The city of Groveland, Florida is located in Lake County. As of 2010, the population of the city was 8,729, an increase of 189% from the 2000 census. Due to annexation with neighboring cities, the area of the city has more than doubled. Its land area has expanded more than five times. The lakes that surround the city provide residents with excellent recreational opportunities. For example, Groveland’s lakefront is home to Lake David Park, which was largely built by the Works Projects Administration in the 1930s. It is a popular place for boaters, fishermen, and mountain bikers. The park also includes multiple docks and a boat ramp. In addition, the city’s public beaches are nearby.
